You may access and correct your personal information and privacy preferences by contacting us via email at webteam@gotham.chat
How we protect your data
Your data is stored in a secure environment. Passwords are securely irreversibly hashed. Identifying information is only accessible to trusted server admins. We take security and privacy seriously and endeavour to insure our servers are secured beyond normal standards for your protection. All communication between our website and your browser is done over TLS/SSL to protect the sending of any sensitive data to our site.
What data breach procedures we have in place
Upon knowledge of a data breach, we will inform all effected parties of such. Assuming the data breach does not remove our data, we will have records of who we need to contact to inform, and in the case we do not, we will contact all those we can.
We may at our discretion place a notice on the website to let our visitors know there was a data breach for a time period, especially in the case where we do not believe we can reasonably contact all our visitors. We will inform as well as to when the breach has been resolved and what protective measures we have put in place, so as to not let such occur again over similar means.
If ever a breach is detected, rest assured, we will endeavour to make sure all possibly effected visitors are aware. Almost no data stolen should hold personally identifying information at this time, nor should it contain details such as banking information or credit/debit card info.
We will update our policy in the future if we ever accept payments and outline in the security sections how we protect such data and what we would do as to such data in the event of a data breach and how we will make our visitors aware.
What third parties we receive data from
Google Analystics and MailChimp.
What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data
All access to our site is monitored for abuse; be it comments or attempts to download the entire content thereof. Your information such as IP address, user agent, referrer, site URL, name, username, email address, comment data, and more, may be used to aid automatic decision making.
In the event of abusive comments the posting of the comment may be automatically denied and/or you may be banned from the site. In the case of abuse of systems you may be disbarred from all future access to this site in any regard and/or other sites that may be hosted at the same server by the same owner.
We reserve the right to, at our discretion, put into place systems that monitor for and act upon abusive users. The examples given here are not either definitive limits as to what is considered abuse of our site and/or systems, nor necessarily of information utilized to make the automated decision.
In the event you feel that a decision was made automatically that impedes your utilization of our site, you may email us at webteam@gotham.chat to make your case known, which does not in any event guarantee reinstatement of visitor privileges or other services to you.
Please note that our definition of abuse may differ from your definition and everything is subject to owner/admin guidance on any matter beyond any stated definition of abuse. Listing all possible things considered as abuse would mean writing a book rather than running a website.
